This type of inner wire is used for Brake Cables of all kinds, such as V brakes, disc brakes, clipper brakes, or cantilever brakes, and it conducts the pulling force from the brake lever to the brake.

The Derailleur Cable inner wire, also called the shifter cable inner wire, consists of 1x12 strands. Its thickness ranges from 1.1 mm to 1.2 mm, and it is usually made with 4x4 heads or drums. This type of inner wire is used in the shifter cable, which connects the shifter to the front or rear derailleur.
